Privilege

Being asked to sing a guest spot at a wedding can be a mixed blessing. You’re not always sure what you’re going to get. There can be dodgy venues, audiences plied a little too loose on the Bride & Groom’s bar tab, screaming kids at one end of the scale or snotty Maitre d’s and wedding Planners at the other end. But a recent performance was none of the above … it was pure pleasure! Picture a beautiful ballroom open on one side to rolling green hills and a lake. Gothic columns flanking the open air side – the bride and groom doing their bridal dance between the columns on the verandah. Dressed as the Divine Miss M, I was on a floating walkway above them singing Wind Beneath My Wings while fireworks erupted from the lake in the second half of the song. Heaven!the Divine Miss M tribute

Starlight

On Sunday 19 June, Annemarie appeared at the Starlight Foundation luncheon at Danny’s Restaurant. The amazing efforts of Danny & Sue and their team along with donated prizes, goods & services came together to raise just under $21,000 for the foundation. Annemarie, appearing as herself this time, entertained the crowd through each of the 5 sumptuous courses and threw in a little “Divine” at the end. Now Danny’s has booked her for an intimate version of the Divine Miss M tribute show for Saturday 22 October. Follow the link above for more details.
